I have two acres in Miami and I am considering buying a 4630 for around the house, use in NC when I move, or commercnial applications.

I have not bought yet as I have been looking at the B2910 or a smaller L series tractor. The advantage of the 4630 is attractive as it can do it all in terms of power and the loader- but I am wondering if I am getting too much tractor-any advice would help me...

I guess the first question is what are you going to do on 2 acres in south Florida that you need a 4630 for? Personally, I would get something appropriate for the present then sell it when you move. Save the expense of shipping it and get a tractor appropriate for each property. On two acres, I would look at a BX2200 or B7500 at about 1/3 the cost of a 4630! JMHO

You really don't even need an L series. A BX2200 will do fine. It is a better grass cutter that about any other Kubota and can lift about 500 lbs. of dirt at a wack. How much more you got to do than that?? There are really no tractors like adjustable wrenches. The better it is for one job the worse it is for another. My Century is right up there with the Kubota 4630. I have 48HP and it weighs 5000 lbs. It's way overkill for my three acres of grass to cut. I keep my Honda tractor for that and use the Century for the heavy stuff.

Howzit Pacesetter, I've got near the same question about the L 4630. I've been looking at the 3830 w/ 723 loader & see that the 4630 w/853 loader can scoop down nearly 30% deeper on each pass (soil permitting !) and has anothe 500 lb lift capacity. I haven't operated that tractor yet, but for a seemingly small increase ($3,000) in cost I can get quite a bit more tracktor. The weight added is also very small. About 220 lbs. I have 10 acres & will be moving a lot of dirt for a few years to redistribute the levels & then end up with a 4 acre pond & 5 acres of grass. I intend to swap out the Indust tires with turf when I'm ready to mow instead of primary earth moving tasks. Also was thinking of adding a stump grinder to it later for possible revenue getter. Your thoughts ? ....
